The problem
Sealed on Sunday. Stale by Thursday.
You did everything right. Clip lid, snapped shut. But a lid only stops new air getting in. It can't take out the air already inside, and every time you open it, more rushes in. The oxygen in that air is a big part of why nuts taste off and chips and coffee go stale.
And a pantry full of cardboard boxes and paper bags has one more problem: anything small can get in.
How it works
One button. The air comes out.
01Fill a Mason jarPut a lid on it, regular or wide mouth.
02Set the sealer on top and pressThe pump pulls the air out and the lid gets pulled down tight.
03Lift it off and put it awayTo open, lever the lid with the keychain opener. Use it, reseal it, back on the shelf.
Why not the big sealer
Stop dragging out the big sealer for one jar.
The big countertop sealer works. It's also a hose, a roll of plastic bags and the setup every time, so it lives in the cupboard.
This one lives in the drawer next to your spatula, so you'll actually use it on the coffee.
Container vs bag sealer vs jar sealer
Shutting a lid isn't the same as taking the air out.

What to seal
What it's for
Crackers, chips, cereal, coffee beans, nuts, rice, flour, pasta, dried herbs and spices, tea.
Fruit, greens and cheese can go in sealed jars, but they still belong in the fridge.
Canning or making food shelf stable. Vacuum sealing is not canning: anything that needs the fridge still needs the fridge. Don't seal hot food, raw meat or oil infusions.

Questions
Which jars does it work with?
Regular and wide-mouth Mason-style jars. The kit comes with an adapter ring and 5 lids for each size.
Can I reuse the lids?
Yes, if you open them with the opener and don't bend them. A bent lid won't seal.
Is it the same as canning?
No. It doesn't heat or sterilise anything. Food that needs the fridge still needs the fridge.
What if it doesn't seal?
Check the lid sits flat and the jar rim is clean and dry, then try again. Still no seal? Contact us within 30 days and we'll sort it.
How long does shipping take?
7 to 10 days, tracked.
